ObjectiveTo investigate the therapeutic effects of health education on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).MethodsNinety two COPD patients were randomly selected and then divided into interventional group and control group. For each subject a medical record is established.Patients in interventional group received systematic health education and management as well as regular health instruction on causal prophylaxis,psychological support,dietary nutrition,oxygen therapy,athletic sports,etc.On the contrast,patients in control group received common instruction from medical staff.Before and after the treatment surveys were conducted on patients′ cognition of COPD and their treatment compliance.At the same time a set of tests were performed on these 92 subjects,including pulmonary function test,six-minute walking trial,BMI calculation and acute exacerbation observation.ResultsDifferences of all observation indicators between interventional group and control group before the treatment were not statistically significant,but these differences were of statistical significance after treatment.ConclusionThe effectiveness of health education and management in COPD is proved.
