Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of retroflex endoscopic mucosal resection (REMR) in the treatment of patients with ultra-low rectal laterally spreading tumor. Methods A total of 60 patients with ultra-low rectal laterally spreading tumor were selected as research objects and randomly divided into a control group or a study group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group underwent endoscopic mucosal resection, and the study group underwent REMR. The resection effect, intraoperative blood loss, duration of surgery, and length of hospital stay, as well as the incidence of complications and quality of life 1 week after surgery, were compared between the two groups. Results The complete resection rate of patients in the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the intraoperative blood loss, duration of surgery, and length of hospital stay were less/shorter than those in the control group; 1 week after surgery, the incidence of complications and the quality of life scale scores in each dimension in the study group were lower than those in the control group (all P<0.05). Conclusion REMR has a significant effect in the treatment of patients with ultra-low rectal laterally spreading tumor, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
