Objective To analyze the research hotspots and development trends of Zhuang medicine in the past 30 years. Methods Articles related to Zhuang medicine from 1993 to 2023 were searched in CNKI, Wanfang, and VIP databases. CiteSpace 6.2.R4 software was used to visually analyze the number of annual publications, all authors, institutions publishing the articles, and keywords of the included literatures, and the knowledge graphs were drawn. Results A total of 3, 833 articles related to Zhuang medicine were included. The number of annual publications in the field of Zhuang medicine was generally on the rise. A total of 208 authors had published articles related to Zhuang Medicine, of which 13 authors had published articles≥30. A total of 232 institutions published articles related to Zhuang medicine, mainly in Guangxi. A total of 152 keywords were included, after excluding subject words of our research, the top 3 keywords in frequency were clinical efficacy, review, and drug line moxibustion, and the top 3 keywords in intermediary centrality were treatment, review, and ethnic medicine. From 1993 to 2023, the top 3 keywords in research popularity of Zhuang medicine were Zhuang medicine, clinical efficacy, and quality standards, and scholars were currently focusing on clinical efficacy, insomnia, pharmacological effects, and research progress. Conclusion A trend of common development of multiple therapies and multiple institutions has been formed in the field of Zhuang medicine, which is still in the developing stage, with an annual increasing number of research hotspots, but there are problems such as insufficient cross-regional cooperation and few research articles. In the future, researches in the aspects of literature mining, talents training, and grassroots construction of Zhuang medicine should be strengthened, a clinical application system for Zhuang medicine established, and the development of the industrialization of Zhuang medicine promoted.
