ObjectiveTo investigate the improvement measures of health education in hospitals of Gansu Province, adapt the requirement of the development of medicine. MethodsHospital medical staff and patients from 12 cities and 2 autonomous prefectures in Gansu province were surveyed questionnaire by random sampling. ResultsThe organization and working framework of health education had been set up in each hospital,the publicity and education work had been comprehensively carries out. The three-level health education organization had been formed, in which hospital leaders as leading group, functional departments as executor, and related office and medical officer of health as the operatives. Medical officers had a good understanding of the importance of health education and relevant knowledge and skills, but knew little about professional skill training and dynamic knowledge of health education. Patients showed higher degree of satisfaction to the health education on diet advice and guidance, but show little satisfaction to the health education on healthy life knowledge, prevention and treatment of disease, and psychological counseling.etc. ConclusionsThe relevant measures, including cultivating professional team, improving the mechanism of funds allocation, strengthening supervision and inspection, etc. should be adopted to to implement hospital health education work, which can greater use of health education benefits and promote the development of modern social medicine.
