ObjectiveTo explore the effects of levothyroxine sodium tablets on thyroid hormone and blood lipids on pregnant women with hypothyroidism. MethodsA total of 120 cases of pregnant women with hypothyroidism admitted to our hospital from July 2016 to June 2018 were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 60 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were given conventional treatment, and the patients in the observation group were treated with levothyroxine sodium tablets on the basis of conventional treatment until the end of delivery. Serum thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroid hormone (FT4), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels were compared between the two groups. ResultsBefore treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in the levels of TSH, FT3 and FT4 between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment (at the end of delivery), the TSH levels in the two groups were significantly decreased, and the levels of FT3 and FT4 were significantly increased, the observation group had significantly lower TSH level as well as higher FT3 and FT4 levels in comparison with the control group, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Before treatment, there were no statistically significant difference in TG, TC, LDL-C and HDL-C levels between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment (at the end of delivery), TG, TC and LDL-C levels in the two groups were significantly decreased, HDL-C level, were significantly increased. The observation group had significantly lower TG, TC and LDL-C levels as well as higher HDL-C level in comparison with the control group (P<0.05). ConclusionLevothyroxine sodium tablets can effectively improve thyroid hormone levels and dyslipidemia on pregnant patients with hypothyroidism.
