ObjectiveTo explore the effect of trimetazidine on exercise tolerance, life quality and cardiac function on patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy. MethodsA total of 110 patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy were selected and randomly divided into trimetazidine group and control group, with 55 cases in each group. The patients in control group were treated with oryzanol tablets, and patients in the trimetazidine group were treated with oral trimetazidine hydrochloride tablets on the basic treatment of both groups. Both groups were treated for 8 weeks. Exercise tolerance ［metabolic equivalent (METs) score, 6-minute walking distance］, life quality ［visual analogue score (VAS), frequency of angina pectoris］ and cardiac function ［left ventricular ejection fraction (EF), New York Heart Association (NYHA) cardiac function grade score］ were compared between the two groups. ResultsAfter 8 weeks of treatment, the trimetazidine group had significantly higher (larger) METs score, 6-minute walking distance, EF% and VAS score as well as smaller (less) cardiac function grade and weekly angina pectoris frequency in comparison with the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). ConclusionTrimetazidine can effectively improve the life quality, increase exercise tolerance and improve cardiac function on patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy.
