Effect of acupoint drug injection combined with acupuncture and massage in the rehabilitation on the motor function of facial muscles in children with cerebral palsy and salivation
ObjectiveTo explore the effect of acupoint drug injection combined with acupuncture and massage in the rehabilitation on the motor function of facial muscles in children with cerebral palsy and salivation. MethodA total of 80 children with cerebral palsy and salivation who were treated in our hospital from January 2018 to April 2020 were selected, and they were divided into experimental group and control group by the random number method, with 40 cases in each group. Children in the control group were given acupuncture and massage for rehabilitation therapy, based on which children in the experimental group were given acupoint drug injection, for a treatment course of 3 months. The clinical efficacy and the pre- and post-treatment oral motor function scores, cerebral arterial blood flow velocity (BFV) and vascular pulsatility index (PI), as well as the changes of intelligent developmental quotient in Gesell development schedule were compared between the two groups. ResultsAfter 3 months of treatment, the total effective rate in the experimental group (95.0%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (77.5%), and the clinical efficacy was significantly superior to that in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). After 3 months of treatment, the oral movement scores significantly increased in both groups, and the score of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). The cerebral arterial BFV significantly increased, whereas the PI significantly decreased in both groups; compared with the control group, the experimental group yielded significantly higher BFV, whereas significantly lower PI, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). The developmental quotient in various intelligent areas of Gesell intelligent development significantly increased in both groups, and the experimental group yielded a higher developmental quotient as compared with the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). ConclusionAcupoint drug injection combined with acupuncture and massage has a significant clinical effect in the rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy and salivation, which can significantly improve the oral movement ability, improve the blood supply and the developments of the cerebral arteries in children, and thus it has great potential to treat cerebral palsy and salivation.
