Clinical effect of conventional western medicine combined with Guishao Roujing decoction + traditional Chinese medicine physical therapy in treatment of Parkinson′s disease with liver blood deficiency pattern: an observation study
ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of conventional western medicine combined with Guishao Roujing decoction + traditional Chinese medicine physical therapy in the treatment of Parkinson′s disease with liver blood deficiency pattern. MethodsA total of 48 Parkinson′s disease patients with liver blood deficiency pattern were selected as research subjects and randomly divided into a treatment group (25 cases) or a control group (23 cases). The control group patients were treated with conventional western medicine, based on which the treatment group patients were treated with Guishao Roujing decoction combined with traditional Chinese medicine physical therapy additionally. Both groups were treated for 3 weeks. The followings were compared between the two groups, including Chinese Medical Syndrome Score and United Parkinson Disease Rate Scale (UPDRS) score before and after the treatment, the total effective rate after the treatment, and the occurrence of adverse reactions during the treatment. ResultsBefore the treatment, there was no significant difference in Chinese Medical Syndrome Scores of all aspects between the two groups (all P>0.05). After the 3-week treatment, the Chinese Medical Syndrome Scores of the aspects of limbs tremor, stiff-neck, unstable walking, decreased physical activity, tongue manifestation, and pulse manifestation in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (all P<0.05). After the 3-week treatment, the total effective rate of the treatment group patients (96.00%) was higher than that of the control group patients (69.67%) (P<0.05). Before the treatment, no statistically significant difference was found in the UPDRS total score and its various dimensions′ scores between the two groups (all P>0.05). After the 3-week treatment, the UPDRS total score and its various dimensions′ scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (all P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions during the treatment between the two groups (P>0.05). ConclusionConventional western medicine combined with Guishao Roujing decoction + traditional Chinese medicine physical therapy in the treatment of Parkinson′s disease with liver blood deficiency pattern can effectively improve patients′ clinical symptoms and achieve evident clinical effects, without adding adverse reactions.
