Investigation of anticoagulation treatment of warfarin in patients with atrial fibrillation in 10 county general hospitals in Tongren city, Guizhou province
ObjectiveTo understand the status and existing problems of anticoagulation treatment of warfarin in patients with atrial fibrillation in 10 county general hospitals in Tongren city, Guizhou province, explore the coping strategies of reasonable, effective, safe use of warfarin in primary hospital. MethodsThe survey scheme was designed according to the purpose of investigation, the medical records were accessed and questionnaire was conducted among on-site doctors, a retrospective study was conducted in patients with atrial fibrillation who received warfarin treatment during hospitalization in 10 county general hospitals in Tongren city, Guizhou province in 2013. ResultsA total of 115 patients with atrial fibrillation were treated in 10 county general hospitals, of which 4 patients in 2 hospitals were treated with warfarin for anticoagulation, the usage rate of warfarin was 3.48%. The patients who received warfarin for anticoagulation were monitored by international normalized ratio (INR) in the long-term, and the INR was maintained at a low level in 1.5-2.0. ConclusionsThe anticoagulation treatment rate of warfarin in 10 county general hospitals is very low, nonstandard application, unreasonable problems are more prominent than other reported. Warfarin should be applied, which can promote the rational use of anticoagulants, then more patients will enjoy the benefits of anticoagulation therapy.
